Around The League

I think we should have an official thread for things going on around the league. ESPN does enough games for this thread to be active and many people have MLB Extra Innings, too. We won't need all different threads on the Yankees, Blue Jays and the rest of the AL this way. Someone sticky this?
As for today's games: Kazmir vs. Pavano on ESPN at 1, Zambrano vs. Harang at 2 on ESPN2, Bedard vs. Santana on ESPN2 at 7 with the late game being Lackey vs. Millwood at 10.

6-5 Yankees top of the 8th, Tampa blew their lead. Tampa Bay's bullpen is just ridiculously bad. I can't think of anyone in the pen who is even as good as the league average.

Anybody catch Sean McDonough doing the Angels-Rangers game last night? Man, I miss that guy.

I used to love Sean McDonough. He's hilarious. Him and Remy were amazing together. Orsillo isn't bad, but he just doesn't bring the passion you'd expect him to. He's about average.
WEEI did an interview with McDonough I heard last summer and he was talking about how he loved his job and he doesn't understand why NESN wouldn't hire him and such. He said he's take the job back in a heartbeat.

He's a rather polished play-by-play guy for football as well. I was hoping with Theismann gone, ESPN would have tossed Tirico and replaced him with McDonough.

Anyone watching this D-Rays/Yankees game? Jorge Posada looks like he is playing drunk tonight (defensively). Not blocking any balls, letting them bounce off his glove...just a ridiculously bad defensive showing. He has made up for it (almost) with his hitting though.
7-6 D-Rays top 8, 0 out 2 on for Tampa.

D-Rays win 7-6. Yankees had a chance in the bottom of the 8th but A-Rod (and Abreu, but I just like to pile on A-Rod like the rest of NY) popped out with the bases loaded and two outs to kill the rally. I can't believe Tampa's pen threw 2 scoreless innings after regaining the lead. Dukes hit another bomb tomorrow. He is now on pace for 162 HR's this season.

Top-tier? He's already the best catcher in baseball and the only guy who can stop him is Joe Mauer. And Mauer will probably move from behind the plate in a couple years.

Kei Igawa is getting bombed vs. the Orioles today.
4 IP, 7 hits, 7 earned runs, 3 walks, 2 K's and 2 HR's allowed. 7-2 O's after 3 1/2 innings.

Love it, except my fantasy team probably doesn't.

Marco Scutaro just hit a 3-run HR off Rivera to give the A's a walk off win (they were down 2, too). This guys clutchness to talent ratio is far and away the best in the MLB.

Buehrle with a no hitter.
