What do you guys think?!?
He is playing solid defense and he has contributed offensively too lately. I have nothing against Pedroia but I can't hear these stupid Eckstein comparisons anymore. Pedroia just doesn't have any speed.
McCarver and Buck talked about it yesterday too and I wondered what you guys think...

It would not shock me if Cora really takes a lot of at bats away from Pedroia. It's still way too early to not give Pedroia a chance to get out of his funk.

That's true even though Pedroia's upside looks pretty limited right now...

im going to drink the kool aid on this one. Pedroia has hit at every level, he may need half a year to adjust to the big leagues, but i think he will be worth the wait

Pedroia helping himself out tonight. I know it's just one game, but hopefully a building block.

That diving catch was nasty!!!
His swing looks good to me, I don't know but as you guys said, he definitely needs time and patience...

God I hope not. Just because Cora has had a couple nice games doesn't wash away the fact that he's a career 657 OPS hitter. He didn't magically transform into this great hitter overnight.
**** that would be the worst move you could possibly make. Pedroia is the second baseman for the rest of this season, and he should be. He's very good.

Cora is wonderful because everytime they put him in, he does something. However, if you remember back to last season when he was playing a lot of Gonzo and Loretta, he wasn't all that swift with the bat. I love Cora as a utility player but I think it's short sighted and the wrong move to make him the second baseman. It's like starting Walter McCarthy at the center spot for more than a game or two, he's a great match-up problem and does nice things but he's a bench player, nothing more.
Pedroia can hit and will hit, he just needs time. A couple of nice hits tonight and that defensive gem will only help his confidence. I miss some of those ABs when he was in the slump but I've seen him hit recently and at the start of the season and he was hitting a lot of balls on a line, with authority, they just went right at people. His BABIP is well below the Mendoza line. Give the kid more than three weeks.
Oh, and Eckstein doesn't have much speed either. mahalo

Eckstein is pretty fast. He has over 100 career stolen bases. Pedroia will be lucky to get into double digit steals in his career, I think.
Pedroia is absolutely nothing like Eckstein. Nothing at all. This racism in sports is annoying. Pedroia is the good Ronnie Belliard from like 7 years ago, except Pedroia strikes out less and will hit for a higher average. And he's not black-ish.

He's also been caught a whopping 41 times which is a 71 percent success rate, which is not bad but just a hair below the effective line. And aside from his rookie year when he tole 29, he's broken 20 just once (21) the very next year. He's also grounded into 60 DPs. He's quick and he's smart but he's not a burner. He's got better speed the Pedroia but he's not all that fast himself. mahalo

Cora is a backup guy at best. If he started for a full season, you would see why he is a backup guy. Now, as for platooing with Peds until Peds is out of his slump is something i'm in favor for
