Call it a hunch, but I see the Yankees taking two of the three.

Please, NO! I want them losing as much as possible and for some tumultuous event, i.e., Torre getting fired, to happen

As long as the Red Sox win one, it's all good.

Somehow the team lacked killer instinct last night. Wang wasn't all that good yet we couldn't convert on a lot of scoring chances.. I fear that the early lead is a little too big already and that some guys could relax or something. Hope I'm wrong and the team gets the swagger back tonight...

Team just couldn't get the hit they needed last night. I expect them to bounce back tonight. Would really like to see Drew or Manny do something big.

Now that is the Manny Ramirez that we need.

Christ, I think I was throwing harder than Mussina tonight and I was pitching underhand...in a rec-league softball game. And I only throw curveballs.

Their rotation is just awful.

Well, at least New Yorkers got the Knicks to cheer for.

This may be the stupidest article ever written about baseball. It reads like a bad post by any of the mods (sans HCYanks) on the Yankee forum.

You throw slow-pitch curveballs? Nasty.

Also, I feels as though I'm missing out the biting sarcasm in that article. Wow that's bad.

They are playing .700 ball. They are not going to continue to play .700 ball. Beckett, Wakefield and Tavarez are pitching over their heads. Okajima is pitching over his head. This is par for the course for Drew and Lugo right now. I really don't see much improvement, except with Manny.

Why do I bother going over there? Not that he said anything particular stupid, but I had said in my original post that Wakefield was going to come back to earth and Tavarez is garbage. He's pitched mightily crappily this year except when facing the Yanks because he is lights out against lefties and the Yankees have plenty. If only he had a breaking pitch to throw to righties, he'd be a half decent starter. mahalo

Just watched the replay of last night's game (since it wasn't televised over here at night). Nice to see Manny going deep, Ortiz with a great night...

Tavarez was solid but Francona almost lost it by leaving him in too long! Still good job for a birthday present!
