Jon Miller- espn playbyplay guy

Post#1 » by celtsloyalty » Mon Jun 4, 2007 2:06 am

Is he senile or something? He has talked about A rod so far for about an hour and a half. Including asking Joe Morgan twice what his opinion is on the busch league base running play by Arod against Toronto. Miller and Joe Morgan are a very boring together also.

It's too bad for Miller. I think he's a good play by play guy. But they put him with that moron in Morgan. I think Miller's main problem is he tries to ask the opinion of Morgan too much.

I think my favorite part was Morgan talking about Mo's slider (you know, the one he doesn't throw). I'm surprised he didn't say that Mo needs to work on the location of his knuckleball because Ortiz almost hit it out.

Rivera hasn't thrown a slider since his rookie year. Those were all cutters.

lol. i was being sarcastic...

but here's my thinking (honestly): rivera throws his cutter 91-92 every time.
the pitch that i thought was a slider was 89 and moved a lot more than any "cutter" i've ever seen thrown. do you see where i'm coming from here?

Yes, we know where you are coming from. But Rivera has not thrown a slider in 13 years when he was a starter, he completely dropped it when he turned into a reliever. I have many doubts that he would attempt to reinvent it in the 9th inning of a 1 run game against one of the best hitters of this era in a game that the Yankees absolutely need. You see where I'm coming from?

I hate Jon Miller and Joe Morgan.

Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy should commentate every Red Sox game, regardless of the channel.

I'm not a huge fan of Orsillo, but Remy is one of the best in the business. We are really lucky in Red Sox Nation to have them tho.

As for Miller I just feel he would be good if he wasn't with that idiot.

Morgan, by far. At least there are moments of clarity with McCarver, like when he pwned Joe Buck
