Used to be on the Red Sox.

38 years old. No cause of death yet.

RIP.

He was fun to watch but didn't have much left in the tank when he made it here. Definitely a fan favorite type of guy, though. RIP.

Yeah, it be interesting to see how he died. He had a drug problem in 2004 where he went into rehab maybe it had something to do with that.

Agreed I kinda liked the guy but he really didn't have it in the few eyars he was here. Me and my dad joked and made a nickname for him Rod "Upper Deck" Beck. He used to drink beer with other players after the games and talk about their performances and what they learned that day. Seemed like a class act and great guy to be around as a person and teammate.

RIP Mullet, one of my favorite players during my development as a Red Sox player. It truly saddened me a bit today to hear his passing, I hope he went peacefully. mahalo

I find it funny how ESPN calls him "Former Red Sox Reliever" on the bottom line. He spent 2 years with us and they weren't that great. His best seasons were with the Giants, and the 50+ save season with the cubs
