Our Lineup is Struggling

Post#1 » by Boston's Future » Tue Jul 3, 2007 3:29 pm

The Only Two guys who are hitting right now are Pedrioa and Youkilis

-Lowell has tapered off, i'm hoping its not the same case as last, b/c we can't have him struggling for the whole 2nd half of the year. I assume his hand injury is part of the issue

- Varitek isn't the same guy that we was when he signed the 4 year 40 million dollar contract, but he can at least hit .275. Tek is starting the path on the downslide of his career

- Mirabelli can no longer hit, its pretty bad when a player isn't even hitting his weight.

- Pena strikes out way too much and swings at anything remotely near the plate. He needs to learn plate disipline and learn how to hit a curveball

- Lugo is probably one of the biggest busts in major leauge baseball. He's struggled all year, this guy isn't in a slump, he just sucks.

Drew has gotten the average up, but he isn't hitting for power, i think his last 17 hits have been singles and only something like 20% of his hits this year are for extra bases

Manny is just struggling, the average is plumiting back down to .280 and the power numbers have dissaperad, he has only warning track power now

Ortiz is still hitting the ball, but not with any pop, the 3-4 Combo of Ortiz and Manny have to drive in runs in order for this team to win.

Yeah, weird things happen in small samples.

Don't worry. It's still a top-3 offense.

Hey man, i'm trying. Its just that when a couple of guys start to struggle, it seems like almost the entire rest of the team follows suite and starts to struggle. If that happens in the playoffs, we are cooked.

15 runs...21 hits.

I love it when people hop off bandwagons.
"The guy is an idiot," Pedroia said regarding Cabrera. "I dropped my bat. It kind of freaked me out. I was upset they took him out of the game. He is good to hit. He's 9-15. The guy [stinks]."
