"The guy is an idiot," Pedroia said regarding Cabrera. "I dropped my bat. It kind of freaked me out. I was upset they took him out of the game. He is good to hit. He's 9-15. The guy [stinks]."

If you think JD Drew is an immense waste of money, wait until Zambrano puts up a lush 4.55 ERA for the low, low price of $15 million a season.

I think you are underestimating the market my friend. Zambrano has recovered his stock this season and could very well push past the $20 million a year mark. With the innings on that arm already, and that horrible walk rate in the AL East, I say let the Yankees have him. I'd rather spend the league minimum on Buchholz because he will outperform Zambrano next year if Z is in the AL East. mahalo

Oh my god. Please for the love of all that is good in the world, please no.

No. I'd give him 3/24, though. Guys who lead the league in walks while pitching in the NL Central should not be pursued. Also, he has like a million innings on his arm.

Go to the Yankees, please. I'd love to see Boston feast on him.

It just seems the author is assuming that just because these teams have **** of cash that they'll pursue him. I honestly doubt the Red Sox will go anywhere near him. Even ignoring that Zambrano wouldn't be very good here, the Red Sox haven't gone after any super high-priced free agents since the new front office took over. Hopefully that changes with A-Rod, though.

Yankees will not touch Zambrano with a 10 foot pole.

id rather bring schill back than zambrano

plus, lester, buchholz and bowden are all getting close to FT big league duty, with masterson gaining ground. thats four guys already in house who are potential/probable starters. and we still have becks, dice, wake, and tavarez. thats a lot o quality starting pitching. not that you can ever have too many arms

He was re-signed. It doesn't matter.

Return to Boston Red Sox
