O's @ Red Sox (So...when do those Pats start up?)

Post#1 » by The Rondo Show » Sat Sep 1, 2007 1:39 pm

The Sox continued to do everything they could to blow the division as they lost 9-8 to the Orioles last night. The Captain came up huge (for the O's) as a pinch hitter with a weak grounder back to the mound off Chad Bradford and a game ending double play with the tying run in scoring position and winning run on base. Luckily for us, Phil Hughes did his Kei Igawa impression and didn't last 5 IP while losing to the D-Rays.

Buchholz, Ellsbury, Moss, Bryan Corey and Clayton got the calls (and Mirabelli has been activated-- despite not being ready to play just yet) with Buchholz getting the start later tonight. Hopefully he can start a little winning streak and The Red Sox can not lose every single game they play without Manny Ramirez. They'll face lefty Garret Olson in tonight's game at 7 PM EST.

According to reports, tomorrow will be Jon Lester (though Francona did not state Lester is getting a call up in his post-game interview-- just the ones I mentioned above) against Daniel Cabrera in a game that may have 20 walks and go on for 5 hours. Game starts at 2 PM EST.

Anyone know how serious Wakefield's back problem is?

Any truth to the rumor that they are going to re-name the Cy Young award the Clay Buchholz award after this season?

Quite the game for Ellsbury so far. 2-2 with a SB and his 1st MLB homer.

Now Ellsbury makes an incredible catch in center. It'll probably be the #1 web gem of the day.

He really needs to play every day until Manny returns and then get some starts over Coco even when Manny is back.

Whatever dude, I'm definitely not a troll. Buchholz was dirty, he was filthy. I complinted him in another thread.
