Lowrie was placed on the 15 day DL.

I saw we trade for an old friend..

Seriously though. It hurts, but I like Nick Green. He had a hot hand yesterday, and had a nice stretch coming into the season. I think he can fill in while Lugo and/or Lowrie get better.

Anyway, late night games coming this series

4/13/2009 at Oak 10:05 PM ET NESN Lester (0-1) Braden (0-1)
4/14/2009 at Oak 10:05 PM ET NESN Matsuzaka (0-1) Eveland (0-0)
4/15/2009 at Oak 3:35 PM ET NESN Wakefield (0-1) Anderson (0-1)

Sweep these bums. Lots of lefties in that lineup for Lester to feast on.

If I'm correct, Nomar has not yet played against the Bosox. Is this true? Can we expect a return to Fenway for him later this season. I'd love to go to that game. I'd cheer endlessly for him. I can't imagine anyone booing him.

OAIEWUR(OEWUKJADH KAJSD **** Javier Lopez. How the hell do you walk 3 lefties in a row? What are you supposed to be doing for this team? I'd rather have Bard taking his lumps out there than this bum.

I agree that was pretty brutal. But despite my dislike for Lopez he was pretty good last season.

I thought the starters were suppose to be good? Great job by the pen last night minus Lopez of course.

I can't tell which beckett we are going to see yet. But Daisuke has looked brutal. And I blame it on the WBC. Don't know why Lester is struggling :dontknow:

Yeah it was. His pitch count before the 8th was downright nasty.

Well Wakefield sure did save the pen yesterday, just a great job. I wish he could get one of those no hitters tho.

I have no idea about Lester as well. The good news is that his walk totals are down even further from last year (I believe), so it is probably a mixture of bad luck and a few bad innings. We really do need him and Beckett to step it up this year though, or I don't like our chances very much. Both of them can't afford to have mediocre seasons. I do understand it's early though, and am more than willing to give them both the benefit of the doubt through April and into May.

Lester will be fine. He's not going to continue to give up this many hits. He's striking people out, not walking people. The homers are scary, but it's early. He's probably not going to keep his HR total from last year, but probably something like 20 HR allowed is reasonable.

He's allowing a .441 BABIP. When that drops back down to .300 in line with his career, he'll be sparkling.

Daisuke just looks horrible. Hopefully it's just a case of deadarm.
