opening day!
just looked at the roster, are hendricks, contrearas and heyward the only ones left from the world series?
happ and hoerner are another couple guys i like, but i don't know much of anyone else on the team
looks like espn's experts aren't expecting much from the team
although seiya suzuki seems to be a rookie of the year favorite
go cubs go!

Re: 2022 regular season thread
Yeah lot of guys I have sort of heard their name at best. It’s a little deflating but still a few guys I like.

Re: 2022 regular season thread
so bryant ended up in colorado. guess i didn't follow where everyone all ended up this off-season after the selloff
after looking at the rosters:
bryant: rockies
rizzo: yankees
baez: tigers
schwarber: phillies
kimbrel: dodgers
pederson: giants
in looking through rosters, i can't believe adam wainwright and yadier molina are still playing

Re: 2022 regular season thread
you ever read this karch?
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/32970691-the-cubs-way
i read it over the off-season, i didn't get much into the behind the scenes stuff as any of this was happening. its really interesting how theo and crew went about the rebuild and how everything ended up working out really well and according to plan (for a couple years anyway). its also very bittersweet reading it now (knowing what's happened since 2016) and how they all thought they had a dynasty on their hands
will be interesting if anyone writes another book in a few years that looks at the 2017-2021 period and dig into why it didn't play out like everyone hoped it would
