*Rumor alert* take it for what its worth

Post#1 » by the air. . . . .man » Thu Oct 4, 2007 9:33 pm

Over on another cubs board a guy said he has *sources* (I hate when they cant say the sources) that after watching replays of the game in HD you can see a dark spot on the right side of Brandon Webbs bill of his cap. I mean his stuff was real sick last night, and I dont want to just excuse the cubs not being able to hit last night but if this ended up being true this would be something big.

I'm not sure what would happen to the game but this is definatly something to think about even if it is a rumor.

No I posted it in the middle of the game like the 6th or 7th inning. No one responded.

oh gotcha.

Well, if this is true and he had something on there, would there be ramifications? Like what would MLB do for a penalty?

Something like this happened with Kenny Rogers last year. I don't remember what happened exactly though. I don't think anything will be said of this.

I remember that. That was all over the place actually. IT was on sportscenter for a while, it was a brown spot on his hand and sportscenter made a big deal about it. But i dont think anything actually happened to the tigers or to Kenny. I could be wrong though.

Pointless discussion. Even if there was something on his hat, which there is not, it would have to be brought up during the game.
If you want to talk about Bush league, let's discuss the 50 year old moron behind the plate with the clock and the sweet gold chain. This dumbass was waving to the camera for 2 innings while on his cell phone earlier in the game. He also held up a sign that said "Hi Mom" for another inning. That guy should be kicked in the balls, repeatedly.

From the MLB rules:
"

(3) rub the ball on his glove, person or clothing;
(4) apply a foreign substance of any kind to the ball;
(5) deface the ball in any manner; or
(6) deliver a ball altered in a manner prescribed by Rule 8.02(a)(2) through (5) or what is called the

It doesn't matter now. If he was doing something wrong then he got away with it, more power to him. If they spot it the next time he throws then they should consider having the ump check it out.

I don't think there is anything to the story, but I also have yet to see a good picture that shows anything. Webb made the Cub hitters look silly last night... and we lost. Whether or not he had any help, at this point, is meaningless.
