bye bye Carl Crawford

Post#1 » by The Sheik » Thu Nov 29, 2007 4:48 am

Delmon Young was traded by Tampa Bay to Minnesota on Wednesday night as part of a six-player deal that sent right-hander Matt Garza to the Rays.

In a swap of promising youngsters that's been discussed for weeks, the Twins also gave up starting shortstop Jason Bartlett and minor league pitcher Eduardo Morlan while acquiring shortstop Brendan Harris and minor league outfielder Jason Pridie.

The deal was first reported by ESPN.com's Keith Law.

While many around baseball were waiting for Minnesota to make a blockbuster deal, this wasn't it. The Twins are involved in trade talks involving ace Johan Santana, who can become a free agent after next season.

Hello Chicago?
Doesn't seem like the Twins gave up much to get him. Just trying to get rid of future salary.

So now would you trade Pie and a pitcher, not Marmol, for Crawford?

what I mean by bye bye is that the rays wont trade Crawford anymore. The had a log jam in the OF and traded Delmon Young, now I cant see them moving Crawford as well, mainly because they got pitching, SS and prospects...just what the cubs were rumored to offer.

I have a good feeling Tamba Bay would trade one guy with a big salary for three guys with salaries around 1 million combined.

Especially if two of them are Pie and Marmol, plus another young pup.

I would put money down that Pie is another Cub hype up and Marmol's success was great but I'll roll the dice and trade him, just as long as I'm getting a proven .300 hitter, 15 hr, 80 rbis, and 50 stolen bases.
