Lou sets 2008 Lineup

Post#1 » by Posey H8er » Sun Jan 20, 2008 8:43 am

According to various blogs and other links, it will be:

1. Soriano
2. Theriot
3. Lee
4. Ramirez
5. Fukudome
6. Derosa
7. Soto
8. Pie
9. Pitcher

I would like to have Derosa hit in the two spot instead of Theriot becuase he has a much greater OBP. One reason Theriot is there is becuase Lou loves the guy to death. Another reason is his speed does play a little factor. He had 28 SB's last year. This number should go up if he plays everyday becuase he did not start consistently all year, but he did get close to 150 games total. The Cubs may also like Theriot because he was hitting .288/.351 on August 28th. Then he had a terrible September. If he can keep those numbers, then that is pretty decent for a two hitter.

Why is Soto 7?

Why is Theriot 2?

Why is Jim Hendry still breathing?

Theriot sucks.. We will see that very clearly this year.

Fukudome should hit 2nd...he won't steal many bases, but he has good speed. Theriot should be at the bottom, or not playing.

Remember guys, this could easily change during Spring Training. Lou will figure out Fukudome needs to be in the #2 slot or even maybe Mark DeRosa.

Have to agree that Fukudome seems a better fit at 2.

Hey Mods: Tell the truth, you do a double take every time you read the name Fukudome

I wish I could hear Harry Caray call that name

Nah, even if people do swear here the forum swear filter will edit it out. Plus, I used to seeing the name now since we have been talking about him since Summer.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Lou put Theriot at the bottom of the order, he has said he likes speed down low to make things happen with the bottom of the order.

1. Soriano
2. Fukudome
3. Lee
4. Ramirez
5. Derosa
6. Soto
7. Theriot
8. Pie
9. Pitcher

Fukudome splits up the big bats with his leftiness. DeRosa receives the protection he deserves. Soto is in the well deserved 6 hole. Pie and Theriot could be switched. If Pie doesn't do well, having him and the pitcher go back to back, isn't Lou's style. So Pie batting 7th with lefty pitchers, or somehting like that.

I like that a lot better.

theriot batting second will end within a couple of weeks, thats if he even ends up with the spot out of spring training.

i would be much happier with a
soriano
fukudome
lee
ramirez
derosa
soto or theriot
pie
