Here's what I wrote in my offseason topic.

3. Dealing DeRosa

This is the point that I expect disagreement on. Here are the facts; DeRosa is in the last year of his deal, is coming off a career year and will be 33 years old. Mike Fontenot outperformed him last year and will be cheap for the next several seasons. It makes no sense to sign DeRosa, so we might as well move him now. His multi-position flexibility will be intriguing to GM's and everyone always values good hitting from the middle infield. Look at what Atlanta got for a worse player in Edgar Renteria; Gorkys Hernandez (better than any prospect we have outside of Vitters) and Jair Jurrjens (3.81 ERA in a full season of starting last year).

That's why I want to deal DeRosa for the best prospects available. With the Harden and possible Peavy deals, a barren farm system has gotten worse. We need to inject some new life into the system.

Mission accomplished, I guess. To be honest I was expecting much more known prospects as the return, but in principle it was an excellent decision.

Damn I love DeRosa. Just a great player any team would love to have.

Great trade if Hendry can pull it off to get Peavy. DeRo is a great locker room guy and a fan favorite here so he will def be missed. I just want to see Soriano get the hell of this team but i know that's impossible.

The three pitchers going to Chicago were all going to be ranked in the top 50 of the Indians Ink Magazine annual list of top 100 prospects in the Cleveland farm system. The issue is days away from going to print and had Stevens ranked No. 14, Gaub at No. 30 and Archer at No. 43.

Yipee.

Stevens will be a Top 10 Cubs prospect if we keep him. That says more about the system than his talent though.

These offseason moves can't be what Lou meant by getting more 'athletic'. Gathright and Miles should not be starters on this roster. These moves should be precursors to something BIG.

Great video tribute ^ too, Mark will be missed.

If anything, DeRosa was our most athletic guy. At least in the infield.

None of the pitchers we got are what you would call A-grade prospects. Not sure if Jim will be able to sell them to pads for Peavy.

BTW, here's a few other Cubs related videos Mike made. Check them out if you like the DeRo one.

The Edmonds video is great.

That kid from the beginning of the video still makes videos, he recently had a "rant" about Aaron Miles.
