The Cubs placed Rich Harden on the 15-day disabled list with a back strain on Friday, and inserted Randy Wells into the rotation for Saturday's game.

The back is a difficult injury to prescribe. Hopefully it isn't a lingering injury throughout the season, but with Harden there's a higher chance of that being the case. At least it isn't arm related.

Re: Harden to DL (Back Strain)
As far as injuries go, it's not a bad one to have for Rich. Better than the shoulder or elbow. I worry that it may change his mechanics slightly, throwing him off a bit.
Obviously he'll never be fully healthy for a season. But if the injuries stay minor like this, he'll still provide value.
