fire Lou? it's not his fault we have the worst offense in the majors. he didn't put the roster in place. but we do need hitting immediately --whether it's through the minors or a trade. it has become apparent that Aramis is the heart and soul of the Cubs. hands down our best, most consistent player. without him we need help instantly. if we keep this up, we'll be 10-15 games out of 1st when he returns. that's far too big of a hole.
first things first. Fontenot has to sit. he's just not doing it right now. Soto has been awful. bradley and his sub .200 BA has murdered us. Lee is in the twilight us his career. those 4 plus Aramis's injury have crippled us.
calling up Fox, despite his poor defense, is worth the risk. but if a bat becomes available via trade, we need it now. this keeps up through June and we're through. next thing you now it's early July, we're 13 games out of first, and the season is over.

I have no idea how we're above .500 with the individual performances we've gotten this season. Outside of Hoffpauir, Scales and Fukudome, every other hitter on the roster has underperformed. A lot of them have been massively below expectations. The pitching has been bad too. I guess you just gotta assume a lot of these guys are going to start to produce at some point, but it's frustrating to watch right now.
Zambrano and Koyie Hill have both hit better than 4 starters, 5 if you include Miles who plays a ton.
