However this trade makes little sense for the Nats. They would actually be taking on more salary.

That was kind of expected with their deal with Seattle. Hendry could have topped the Giants offer if he truly wanted Sanchez.

Never mind, Pittsburgh is the big winner of this deal. Sanchez was traded for Tim Alderson. He is a top 50 prospect. Great value.

That has to be the worst defensive OF in MLB history.

Oh and Fuku has a NTC I believe. I'm sure he'd be thrilled to be traded from a contender to a wasteland.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
Bradley as the regular CF would never happen. It's crazy to expect him to stay healthy at such demanding position and he's lost a ton of speed. I really doubt we make any big move. Maybe we'll grab a lefty reliever.

Re: Trade Deadline Thread
Ed Price of Fanhouse is reporting that the Dodgers have acquired George Sherrill from the Orioles.
If true, Sherrill would work as a setup man in front of closer Jonathan Broxton. Sherrill has a 2.40 ERA, 20 saves and a 39/13 K/BB ratio in 41 1/3 innings this season. Jul. 30 - 3:10 pm et
Damn.
