Damn! Derrek has another 2 homer game. His 30th and 31st so far. What a bounceback season for him.

Sheik wants to trade D-Lee. WOuld be a tremendously stupid move. Just like getting rid of DeRosa, getting rid of heart and soul of team.

Knowing how this Cubs season has gone, they'll call this game before it's considered official. Actually the Pirates probably want to lose this game to move up in the Bryce Harper standings.

Weather. com's doppler makes this look like slight rain showers that will be away in 30 minutes, nothing serious. I don't know why everyone thinks this game will be cancelled.

Well it's official now so it doesn't matter.

I dont want to trade D-Lee for the sake of trading him, and obviously not for the same reasons that we traded DeRo. However, I would explore all our options and if a good deal came along that Derrek would accept I say why not. It probably wont happen this winter because Hendry is too cocky of an SOB to admit he was wrong. He will probably spend some more this off-season in hopes of turning things around. I have no dont that with a healthy Aramis and pitching staff and improved bullpen that we can win the division, but we are to the point where winning the division isnt enough.

Like I said get a new middle infield, resign Harden or get Hudson, Bedard, maybe even Lackey, or Duke, add pieces to bench, sign Soriano or Valverde, resign Grabow, and depending on what Lou wants either get a whole new staff including a manager but definitely a new hitting coach.

Next season is the last year of Derrek Lee's contract (with a no trade clause). If the Cubs are out of the playoff race next year then it would be smart to trade him.
