We're Soler powered now

Post#1 » by GYBE » Tue Jun 12, 2012 2:45 pm

Jorge Soler, 20 year old Cuban RF has signed with the Cubs.

$30 million over 9 years, though he can opt out for normal arbitration rates when he gets there.

HUGE signing. We basically just bought a top 25 prospect in baseball, a guy who most "experts" thought would go top 5 if he was in the recent draft. This is exactly what we should be spending our money on.

We're getting stacked with hitting prospects now. Rizzo, Baez, Almora, Soler and Jackson is a pretty amazing group to start from. Add Castillo, Lake, Sczcur, Marco Hernandez...our top 10 next year could be entirely hitters.

I actually wrote about the Cubs future in my latest article. Soler can perhaps become the Cubs best player whenever he is ready for the majors. Take a look, as always feedback would be greatly appreciated. http://chicagosportsguys.blogspot.com/2 ... -cubs.html

And we got him for a good price, good for us.

If Dennis Rodman drove a truck, he'd give all the refs a ride!

Good article. I think Lake might wind up being the second basemen, but who knows how him and Baez fit with Castro as far as who goes where.

We've officially signed Jorge Soler today, hopefully these are the right steps to a brighter future.
