Why are Cub fans more optimistic than Sox fans in 2007?

I find the different tones in Cubdom and Soxland to be ironic, given how close the two teams are record-wise.

The Cubs are within 4

It exemplifies the difference between Cubs and Sox fans. Cubs fans are there rain or shine, looking for the good when so much bad is in front of them.

Sox fans show up when there is nothing bad to look at and no reason not to jump on the bandwagon.
