Hendry interview on the Score

Post#1 » by Howling Mad » Fri Jul 20, 2007 1:44 pm

RECAP:

Loves the team. Thinks they are all baseball players and not just sluggers, runner, or any specialist type of player.

Loves Kendall and believes the Cubs are now around the top 10 in defense rather than the middle of the pack.

Hendry loves DeRosa. Thinks Theriot is a long time solution. First targets were Soriano, Lilly, and DeRosa in the offseason and real happy he nabbed them all, even earlier in the season when the team was doing bad.

Took advantage of the bad season last year and dispersed their scouts everywhere. Didn't just look for baseball players but good character guys because the club house is just as important as the field.

Thinks DeRosa is a gold glove type guy in several positions. :o

Loves his pitching staff because they are consistent and they eat up innings.

Hasn't picked up his phone about anymore trades in awhile. Not being active about shopping Jacque Jones, but always listening to any offers for any player.

Traded Izturis because they wanted an offensive player rather than a defensive player on the bench, especially with 12 pitchers.

Hendry claims Barret trade was his idea and not Pinellas. BS BS BS. Thought Barret cared so much he came out everyday and tried too hard.

although Mike North is a tool this was not a bad interview.

Woops forgot to add...

They will make another move becuase Daryle Ward will go to the DL. Expect to see a funky lineup today and througout the D'Backs series to test out some possible emergency lineups.

Haha thats Jim Hendry saying the D'Backs suck.

Return to Chicago Cubs
