Hendry: Pie is not going anywhere

Alright Jim you are doing a good job. You didn't trade Dye for Marmol and you are keeping Pie!

General manager Jim Hendry put an end to speculation that the Cubs would deal their top prospect, telling reporters before Monday's game against Philadelphia that he has no intention of dealing Pie.

"Felix Pie has never been talked about," Hendry said. "He's not going anywhere in any deal. There will be no trade of Felix Pie to anyone."

Hendry was referring to speculation that Pie would be dealt to Texas in a package deal. He said he has not spoken to Texas general manager Jon Daniels about a trade.

Cubs manager Lou Piniella said he's OK with the roster he has. "We're comfortable with what we have," he said.

Alright good stuff!

In a few years when Marmol and Pie are studs all of us true Cub fans will have something sincere to cheer about.

17 hours for Jones to get moved.

If he is not moved I shall not post here until the season is over.

We better not stand pat.

This just seems like common sense. Oh, we're not trading our best prospect for our 6th mediocre catcher of the year? Really? I have no idea how that rumour started.

Well,... I don't agree with your personal ban but I do agree about Jones getting traded.

Honestly, I think he has woken up, not Jones of Minny, and not as good as I would like but enough to keep him around. Bad for Pie, even though Felix should get a call up late in the season.

Plus his contract could be valuable later.

Yeah you will not like this:
Bruce Levine said that the Cubs are happy with what they have and he doesn't see Hendry making any moves.
