Len on Cubs.com message board

Post#1 » by treyZz » Wed Aug 15, 2007 5:57 am

http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/pfx/forum.a ... tid=290713

"Is there anything that this dope isn't happy about? It's good for Matt Murton to swing and miss because he's trying to hit for power? It's good to swing and miss. We went from Brickhouse, Caray, and Stone to this stupid, sunshine-positive, vanilla announcer who is absolutely worthless. The good part is, I know he'll read this because he is so self-obsessed, he defends himself on an internet message board and meets posters who hate him on here. Get lost, Len....You are worthless."

Len actually replies on page 2..

Absolutely hysterical. This guy hit it right on the money.

Len is a pretty weak play-by-play guy, no doubt about it. But I can't disgaree with a lot of what he said.

Ryan Howard leads the league in strikeouts, and he's probably the best power hitter in the game. Patient hitters who swing for power are always going to strike out.

And David Eckstein strikes out the least in baseball among regulars...and he sucks.

Those are pretty hurtful things to say to him especially when he reads that board.
They need to shut down that board. The Cubs MLB board might be worse than the Cubs ESPN board.

I actually like Len more than Chip. He is not as boring, and has improved from when he first started. If we had Stone instead of Brenly, we would miss those stupid funny jokes.

Who cares.

Len is an absolute tool & deserves all the criticism.

That board is a huge joke though.

That's why I like posting at local boards like RealGM and NSBB.
They don't let things get out of hand.

Len is a little foooofy for me, ya know what I mean?

Bob tries his hardest to be an entertainer without going over the family-tv boundaries. I like him, I think he has some good analysis and calls the plays and pitches before they happen.
