NEW YORK -- Chicago Cubs minor league pitcher Scott Taylor was suspended for 50 games Saturday following a positive test for a drug of abuse under the minor league program.

The 20-year-old right-hander from Charleston, W.Va., was 4-11 with a 5.74 ERA in 13 starts and 13 relief appearances this year for the Class A Daytona Cubs of the Florida State League. The suspension will start next season.

There have been 26 suspensions this year under the minor league program and four under the major league drug plan.
