No comment. Seriously, this is just too funny.
The Reds have reportedly signed Corey Patterson and Jerry Hairston Jr. to minor league deals.
Patterson kept holding out and holding out, but he never found the deal he wanted. At least the Reds can give him an opportunity to claim a starting job, though he'll be a long shot to play full-time initially. This does make it more likely that Jay Bruce will head to Triple-A initially.
No comment. Seriously, this is just too funny.

So far, infielder Mark DeRosa was hospitalized with an irregular heartbeat, pitcher Jose Ascanio had a bruised face after getting punched in a robbery attempt, and outfielder Felix Pie missed a couple of days early because of a twisted testicle. Third baseman Aramis Ramirez remains sidelined with a sore right shoulder.
.....
reminds me of the the Venture bros when one of the kids got testicular torsion. I bet Pie said his no no's hurt as well.

PEORIA, Ariz. -- Kosuke Fukudome has one hit in seven at-bats so far this spring, and Cubs manager Lou Piniella said Monday he may consider moving the outfielder from the No. 3 spot in the lineup to bat second.
"We need for him to swing it," Piniella said. "I might drop him back down to the two-spot and see what happens."
On Monday, against the Seattle Mariners, Fukudome reached on a fielder's choice, was hit by a pitch and grounded out to second, advancing a runner.
Asked if he had talked to Fukudome about his approach, Piniella said no.
"We never talked to Ichiro [Suzuki] here about approach, and Ichiro has done quite well," Piniella said. "He knows what he needs to do. Maybe the three-hole might be asking a little much too soon. We might drop him to the two-hole, and he might be more comfortable there."

MESA, Ariz. -- Cubs shortstop Ryan Theriot said he was just messing around with the new guy during batting practice when he said, ''How 'bout a homer?''
A couple of hours later, Kosuke Fukudome hit his first home run as a U.S. major-leaguer, taking an 0-2 pitch from Milwaukee's Claudio Vargas over the right-field wall.
''It's that easy,'' Theriot said.
How easy? Fukudome said he understood Theriot to say, ''Go get three hits.''
Which he also did, driving a single up the middle and sending another single the opposite way, just inside the bag at third.

You have to be encouraged by the way Zambrano's line looked today. Looks like Hill had 1 bad inning but still only gave up 1 run.
I have to admit that as for now (knock on wood) I've been happy with the starting pitching. And as much as everyone bashes on Dempster, who knows, maybe he'll actually have a decent season.
