Michigan doesn't have "dispensaries" as you might find in Cali though. Cali is the only place that passed a state law allowing it (even though the DEA will still do raids).
Ann Arbor is just really lax on marijuana-related "criminal" offenses. Good smoke from Canada makes its way to Detroit and then through SE Michigan.

I think it was PNF getting mad after Oden went down and I took the liberty of bumping some thread ON THE NUGGETS BOARD that some Portland trolls had made awhile back.
Suffice to say, nothing came of it.

Ann Arbor's public schools are banging. Grammar/High schools are all top notch.
For the most part, Ann Arbor is a pretty nice city, but of course there are some less appealing parts (far west side).
The place we got is in Central A2, which is definitely one of the nicer areas. We got a steal on this place, rent will be $1450/mo split between me/gf/close friend.
You'll spend anywhere from $1100/mo - $1900/mo depending on what you're looking for. One of the "good" things about the area around here is that the housing market is
right now so people more and more are looking to lease their place(s) for just enough to cover the mortage for the owner. So you end up being able to get a ridiculously nice place for cheap (all relative) like we ended up finding.
If you do start actively looking for a place, just keep me posted. I know all there is to know about where to and where NOT to live around here.

They hold 4/20 proud, and yeah, if you get caught holding a bag, they take it and give you a $50 fine and you're on your way.
A good place for the potheads indeed.
Yeah Everyone wondered why Super Mario went back for his Sr. Year.
A2 ia a nice town, I had a great time when I was there.

Here is one for sale, but probably out of our price range to buy...
http://www.tridentestates.com/kiowa/index.htm
My g/f and I are in debate to buy because of exactly what you said about the housing market, and after about 20 minutes of research the g/f says Michigan is crap. I told her already(from what you said), but ya know women.
If we do buy we'd have to really think about how long we'd like to stay at the home since our kids will probably be growing up there. Oh the M word. Yikes. The aunts and uncles have been hard on us about it.
Renting seems like a good option in that area, especially for a couple finance majors, well she is, I might still be.
We always said buying a home is the first and major investment as a young couple, but if we can save the down payment and store it into investments, it'll be almost the same thing.
We also talked about keeping the wrigleyville condo for my sister and my parents. My sister had a brain tumor, now removed, but still has to make frequent medical related visits to Children's Memorial Hospital, which is about a 20 minute walk, and a 5 mintue drive from where I'm at now.
The good thing is, I'd still have a pad for Cub games... wooohooo! The bad is trying to convince my parents to help pay for it, as it would be a haven for long medical day visits where my parents are usually sitting at a coffee shop for most of the day. They say its fine with them, but I'm sure if the condo was vacant, they wouldn't have a problem hanging out here. My Dad could get some work done with his laptop, and my Mom could sleep since she works mostly nights at another hospital.
We'd probably have to put up the bill for both places, so that would hamper the 'investing for the future' deal a little bit, but the condo itself is already investing.
Thanks again 2poor, you definitely gave us something to really think about. Its a big change and nothing that would happen over night, or over month, but my g/f seems to really like the area and if it does ever get to the point where we get out there, I'll hit ya up for that Tigers game.
Right now we're looking at San Francisco. Kinda too far away from our families, but we love Cali, and love Frisco.
Also the NY suburbs, obviously my idea, but a dark-horse, more so than Ann Arbor. We also looked at Wisconsin, but don't like the schools in the areas we looked in.
Ann Arbor seems like a place that can be plopped down into the Chicago Suburbs, so we're establishing some major interest.
If we do get serious, it'll probably be like 6-8 months from now, maybe even a year from now, so we'll obviously have to look again.
This is the first stage of like twelve or so stages, so nothing serious, but legit interest.
Much appreciated, thanks again bro, I'll keep you posted.

Hey Sheik, I'm a big John Mayer fan, and it seems like the perfect break up music.
here ya go, a little Big Brother action int he vid too, if you're into that stuff. I'm not, but it went well with the music.
Slow Dancing In A Burning Room, don't worry you'll have that 'last dance'.

haha man its the funniest sh^+ though. I have been with her for 14 months and lately we have kinda been fighting about how she wants to get married. Her sisters are married and thats her only incentive. I have a ton of money saved up, but I have a good 1.5 yrs left of school and I wouldnt even consider it. So anyway she comes with an ultimatum that I need to marry her or were done, thinking that I would cave and not wanna lose her. Lately Ive just been thinking I love her, but not in love and I don't wanna end up contributing to the 50% of divorces. So I told her the love, but not in love speech and then we argued/talked for 3hrs and in the end she was shocked that I said "then leave me". And she is probably gonna beg me to take her back, but in all honesty Im kinda getting sick of this sh^t.
