Right decision, he has played like trash. He needs a wake up call.

After being a Cubs fan and a baseball fan all my life, I found myself really disillusioned following last season. I realized that the albatross that is Soriano, along with an aging club filled with no-trade contracts meant that the Cubs had no chance of contending for at least 5 or so years.

So I said "eff 'em," and cut that (Please Use More Appropriate Word) franchise from my life entirely. Then, I realized that baseball as a whole pretty much sucks. So I said "eff baseball."

Ever since, I've been rooting for Chicago baseball failure, so I don't have to hear as much about baseball from would-be baseball fans. Feels good, man. Aligning your interests with Chicago baseball failure is a winning proposition, and it's a double-win, because you won't waste your time watching long, boring games every day.

Why not? They're a garbage team no matter what, and their roster is chalked full of no-trade-clause contracts. Hell, Lou might as let some of the players kids' start some games, just for yuks.

What for? At least with him in, the losses will be a bit more entertaining.

What a stupid organization.

One of the worst and weirdest baseball decisions I've ever seen.

Z pitched horrible opening day, like usual. The next three starts he struck out 25 batters over 18 innings. His peripheral stats are fine, which means his ERA is inflated. He's pitched much better than it shows. He's actually striking out more people now than ever.

By the way, since coming into the league in 2002 his highest ERA for a season is 3.95. Carlos Silva's career ERA is 4.67. Zambrano's best quality is his durability. Silva has had several recent inuries. They're putting a proven workhouse who makes $18 million a year (for the next 4 years) in the bullpen in favour of a guy who wasn't even a lock to make the team. He's Carlos Silva! He hasn't been serviceable since 2007.

Not to mention we lose Z's at-bats, which are usually a little better than the usual pitcher. It's just a colossal misuse of resources.

typical cubs.. is anyone really surprised here? these are the cubs.. the lovable losers.. that is our tradition. Unfortunately, we are all here to stay ! haha

and for the zambrano being sent to the bullpen.. he'll probably be back starting soon.. look at the Zito situation before

Once Silva or Gorzo come back down to earth and start sucking he'll be right back in the rotation.

Big Z isn't so much of a talker as he is just really intense. Almost in KG kind of way, but without all of that fake thug fighting BS.

Right he just fights with teammates and coaches instead

Yeah, because that isn't typical...

The only reason Z has such a high ERA is because of his first start. He's been solid in his past two starts.

The reason why I hate Z going to the bullpen is because he usually struggles out of the gate in games. This will more than likely transfer over to his bullpen appearances.

I'm pretty sure this won't last that long.

Return to Chicago Cubs
