I think he means one of them will go on the DL.

Something has to give, and here's some info I have not seen anywhere else: I have heard today that Daryle Ward (or possibly Matt Murton or Cliff Floyd) is to go on the DL tomorrow (back trouble, allegedly, despite the fact that he pinch-hit today), and Felix Pie will be recalled. Good -- but ONLY if Pie is installed in CF every single day, batting sixth or seventh. Stay tuned.

I think Ward or Floyd will be on the DL.
They have had lingering injuries

They just announced it during the Iowa game.

Felix on his way to Chicago.

They did not say who was going down though.

Felix just homered off last years #1 overall pick Luke Hochevar.

2 home runs in 2 days.. Why is he in Iowa?

Jones vs RHP .236 .297 .345
Pie vs RHP .243 .305 .411

Pie had a bad 2 week stretch.. 7 for 47 and was immediately benched.

He was replaced with "the hot hand" Pagan who went 8 for 42 and Pagan is once again getting a start today.

Do you see a problem with this?

Felix plays superior defense to Pagan, is a better base runner, base stealer, and a better hitter yet goes cold for 2 weeks and is never seen from again. Before getting shipped back to Iowa.

It's garbage.

Another brilliant move by our 3 chinned GM.

Pie has 45% of the vote on Cubs.com regarding who should be starting in CF.

(between JJ, Pagan, Pie)

He'll be back soon enough, and JJ will become Jr.

i'm pretty sure hendry is not making the suggestion for pie to go down as lou is the one supposed to play him and the one who decided that he thought the cubs were better off w/ felix in the minors.

Lou wanted to give the other 2 clowns some AB's.

He did not say the Cubs were better off w/ Felix in the minors.

He said he can help the Cubs win, but is his development worth him sitting out every other day? They wanted him to get more at bats at some level.

He has done nothing but kill the ball since going back.

The kid has paid his dues. Reward him now.

AAA pitching is a lot different from MLB pitching. perfect example would be (can't remember his name) the guy who tore up AAA for the Cubs, tore up spring training, but the fact of the matter is he never made it to the bigs and ended up going to japan i think...
many of the best young arms come straight up from AA and many AAA pitchers include guys sent down, rehabbing, etc. that are working specifically on certain pitches or problems in their deliveries, etc...i'm not discounting that these hitters are doing great and are improving, and I think Felix will get his chance... but right now, jacque isn't going anywhere unless the cubs can somehow trade him (he's playing pretty well in the last week), pagan is doing pretty well too and should be the teams 4th outfielder in the years to come, but all in all, the team is winning w/out felix so why not let him continue to work in AAA until they absolutely need him or for september callups for the 40 man roster...

Because he is the best CF we have & gives this team the best chance to win?

He is a better hitter than Jacque & is undoubtedly better in the outfield.

What has Jacque Jones ever won in his career? At any level? The guy sucks. I can't believe the love that is being given to this clown. Were you guys in a coma the first half of the season? I've never seen a professional baseball player play so bad during the first half of any season.

Felix has won a CHAMPIONSHIP EVERY YEAR during his professional career except one year. And it was last year when the entire AAA pitching staff was pitching for a pathetic 66 win team that is the '06 Cubs.

jacque did play with the minnesota twins... they did win quite a few division titles with him.... but he had nothing to do with that and felix was the sole reason that those teams won right?

You're going to make treyzZz's head explode.

And I mean, really, its stupid to even consider JJ being more worthwhile than Pie.

Pie is our future, JJ is a has-been who benefitted from playing in a dome/turf. Yeah, he was decent last year...when the Cubs sucked.

He's had a few good games in a row, sure, but Cub fandom would be ecstatic if they announced tomorrow that he was traded for a case of Old Style.

Any sane Cubs fan wants Pie in CF every day.

Of course not.

Jones is a .250 hitter in his prime.

3 out of the past 4 seasons (including this one) he has hit under .250.

Enough said. He is the weakest link.

i understand that it's no coincidence that felix has been on winning teams throughout his career, but right NOW, Jacque is the better hitter and has proved it throughout his career... ITS CALLED A SLUMP. He also didn't get extended opportunites to get back in a groove until felix got sent down and jacque had the guarantee that he had consistent playing time without having to worry about losing his starting job. when guys get in slumps, they press, they try too hard and it gets worse with the threat of a guy taking over your job... you said the same with matt murton.
