I agree with neckz assuming last year was not a fluke for Soto and we are willing to add more talent with pitching.

Hill and Soto is very stupid based on the risk that if we pulled off that deal we could start spring training with Jake Fox as the starting catcher. Kendall will probably sign with another team. Hill, Hart, Prior, Ohman, Dempster, and Lilly for Carl Crawford and Scott Kazmir. Then we sign Carlos Silva and Jeremy Affeldt.

Rays Deny Crawford Trade To Cubs Is Imminent

Hill, a left-hander, was 11-8 with a 3.92 ERA in 32 starts last season for the National League Central Division champs. Patterson is an outfield prospect, who played in just seven games in 2007.

There is also a rumor of a three-way deal involving the Rays, Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees.

The Rays have denied a deal being in the works.

Doesn't surprise me. Hendry has been a little gun-shy when it comes to making trades that might improve the team lately.

He'll probably trade for some middle of the road left handed bat like he always does.
