Lee makes a nice catch on a tough flyball. He actually earns his Gold Gloves.

Looks like DeRosa is still in love with the double play.

Not sure why you thought it'd be an easy win vs Sampson, he's 2-0 with a 0.60 ERA against the Cubs in his career.

Having said that, the Astros still suck and can't score runs worth a damn so yea, you guys should win this easily.

2 outs, Hill serves up a walk and homer. Nice work.

Don't worry, we've had a trend going over the first 4 games of grabbing a lead or tying the game up, then giving it right back.

You'll score in this next inning.

would we be that much worse if we never signed Soriano? I just cant believe we passed on Beltran for this.

In fairness, Andy MacPhail and ownership were the ones to blame for the free agent blunders. They wouldn't allow Hendry to make huge contract offers back then. Instead of $15 million a year for Beltran, they preferred to spend $15 million on multiple, mediocre players. I think we signed Neifi, Eyre, Howry, Blanco and Jones that year. The total salaries exceeded Beltrans per year, and gave infinitely worse production. I remember they didn't offer Tejada a realistic contract either when he wanted to come to Chicago (and he was awesome for a few years in Baltimore).

Then when Hendry was finally allowed to really spend, Alfonso was the best free agent outfielder, so he massively overspent to ensure we'd get the big prize that year. And now we're stuck with him.

You can't yank Pie after 4 games. That will kill his confidence. It's a long season, he'll get better.

I feel so lonely on the Astros board. We only have like, 3 guys(including myself) who ever post there, and I'm the only one around ATM.

Astros better score some more runs because I know the Cubs will tie it up eventually, it's inevitable.
