Ok, let's get down to business... we're going to see basically the same thing next year... so what can we do to fix things?

We need a leadoff hitter. Soriano is not a leadoff hitter.

Brian Roberts.

& We need a SS that has an arm.

& a RF who can hit for power.

Well it's hard to say what to do. Our team plays so well in the regular season but chokes in the playoffs. How exactly do you fix that? You want to have guys that get on base a lot and limit your hit or miss type players. Soriano is who I am speaking of, but as a team we led the NL in OBP and even OPS! There is no sure way to fix this mess.

i'm on board with the leadoff hitter thing.. Soriano will drop down in the lineup whether he likes it or not.

as for RF i don't think we're going to see anyone new.

Furcal is a free agent and fits the bill as a SS with an arm. He would also fill the lead off problem.

Lee needs to be moved from hitting 3rd.
Soriano needs to be moved out of the lead off spot.

Our pitching rotation is set. Dempster is a free agent but he likes Chicago so the Cubs will probably offer him a lot of money. We need another strong arm in the bullpen. And we need to get some guys at the top of the order that get on base.

I wouldn't count on Edmonds doing anything, so you need a new CF or RF...I would like to sign Bobby Abreu or Raul Ibanez. Would love to sign Rafael Furcal to play SS and lead off..

IMO our bullpen is good enough.. let's be real.. it's our defense and offense that's killed us. We need Rafael Furcal...

I wouldn't overpay for Dempster this year. He had a great year, but if he demands top flight money, I wouldn't pay. He could be Carl Pavano of 08.
