So much for the comeback, Cedeno tried to help us out.

Disappointing 1-2 in this series.

Time to watch something else this year. This team doesn't have enough to win 75 games.

Hopefully the Bulls take us through most of June, and then the NFL doesn't lock out.

Thinking this team will win around 66-68 this year. Good pitching but inconsistent offense. Need to score 5 runs to win games and they can't.

Byrd needs to get out of the 3 spot. He had a nice 1st half last year but NL pitchers figured him out and he looks silly now. Byrd has no patience whatsoever.

Just got home from the game. Fiance and I walked by Wrigley looking for lunch and got offered $10 seats at the beginning of the 2nd inning. Couldn't turn those down :) That Colvin throw out at the plate made the place erupt. Still a LOT of empty seats at Wrigley. Rickets was there and was taking pictures with fans literally right in front of me. 1-2 to start the season against the Pirates at home. It's going to be a LONG season.

We were lucky to take one in that series because the Pirates outplayed us for the majority of the series.

Yeah, I'm glad the Bulls are doing well, but I would gladly trade Derrick Rose in for a Cubs World Series victory.

I think it is time to bat Catro 3rd. Move Byrd and have Fukudome or Barney lead off. I can't wait till Jackson is ready for thr bigs so we have a good speedy lead off hitter without having to use Starlin.

When you can't beat such "legendary" All-Star/HOF caliber pitchers like Correia/Malholm and Ohlendorf with supposed your three best pitchers (admittedly Garza deserved the win today) at home, then there isn't much hope this can do anything but be mediocre. What sucks the most...........there isn't one dominant team in the Central and the division is winnable, just not for the Cubs.

Here's to another year or medicore baseball at it's Cub-iest.

I think Pena would be a good 3 hitter.

Fukudome
Castro
Pena
Aramis
Byrd
Soto
Soriano
Barney/DeWitt/Baker
Pitcher

Or break up Soto and Soriano and put Byrd in between them.

I say release Reed Johnson and bring up Jackson.

Kidding, of course, but we might see Jackson before roster expansion in September.

Barney is an absolute putrid hitter. The thought of him at leadoff is a joke.

Keep Castro leading off. Get him as many ABs as possible in a season that doesn't matter.

You could bat Castro third and still get him just about as many at bats. He should be hitting with men on, so he can drive runs in.

Return to Chicago Cubs
