Byrd, Rammy, Fuku all look good so far. Don't panic, when Castro comes up, he not Rudy will be the savior. :D

It's just funny how bad this Cubs team has been exposed in the first two games so far. Every concern I had about this team has become a reality in the 2nd game of the season.

How many years is it now that we have been watching Theriot bounce throws from SS to 1B?

It's just disgusting. Not that I expected him to make that play. But, this guy is a 2B, not a SS and it's been painfully obvious for years. Why are we subjected to this garbage. It doesn't make sense.

What have I been saying about this guy for a long time? The lack of a good middle infield hurts especially considering if we had a good one it would put us a leg up on the Cards.

Agreed. I would like to see Baker get more at bats if Fontenot continues to struggle as well.

Fontenot almost showing off his poor defense on a routine grounder.

Good teams usually are strong up the middle defensively.

We have a below average SS, below average 2B, and a RFer playing CF.

Byrd's probably the least of our defensive problems. We foolishly traded Blanco to keep Fontenot. Ideally, defensively Baker and Lee/Castro would be good (though Castro's an average SS, still making steps there and a hell of a lot better than Theriot at Short).

If Lou wasn't sleeping through the 2nd half of last season, he'd know that Baker clearly outplayed Fontenot.
