He's cost us those AB's with his poor play. He's a career .303 OBP guy, he's actually played better than his norm if you can believe it.

I think Hendry's hit and miss. He's certainly not the worst GM. He should get tons of credit for the DeRosa signing especially, and Lilly and Marquis as well. But the Monroe move was just wrong.

The fact that this thread about needing more posters has reached 4 pages makes me think we are fine.

But overall he is an above-average GM. He tries to get every move he wants. Sometimes that can bite you in the rear end though.

You've got it backwards on the Pierre trade - we gave up 3 prospects to get him. And yeah, I absolutely hated that trade at the time. None of those pitchers has shown that they're any better than average though. Mitre is a dime a dozen and Nolasco was struggling badly and sent back to AAA. Pinto could be the one valuable piece Hendry gave up, and he's looking like a career reliever.

Pierre I never liked though. Zero power, gets thrown out stealing far too much, and doesn't walk enough. Basically he's Ryan Theriot, but he can't play the infield and costs about $8 million more per year.

The minor leaguers traded for Trachsel and Monroe were very marginal players that had no place on our roster.

Personally, I think Hendry's biggest mistake of his tenure was hiring Dusty Baker.

Speaking of managers, Hendry's best move was hiring Lou. He has made this season very enjoyable and has turned this team back into a winning ball club.

You're not on the Theriot bandwagon? I think we all have man crushes for him here.

I'd switch Lilly and DeRosa. Only because ANY team could've signed DeRosa, he only got a 3 year/13 million deal. And he's played virtually every game at so many different positions and just gotten on base all year. Really indispensible.

I like Lou, but I have some trouble giving Hendry credit for him since he hired Dusty Baker first.

Theriot's about average for a starting SS, I'd say. Sparkplug, but a miserable lack of power. Better than Neifi Perez though.

Did you know: Neifi had 572 at-bats in 2005 with an OBP below .300?

That's why Dusty was horrible.

BTW, nice job regulating on the Brewers board, GYBE. Those dudes are more bitter than a pint of Milwaukee's Best.

Gotta be Aramis.

With the game on the line, who would you rather see at the plate?

I want Lilly on the mound in a big game situation, yeah, but I want Aramis at the plate when we need a big hit.

Personally, I want Traschel on the mound in a big game situation... Just look at the one game playoff in 98...
