Good **** **** Hendry.

If he was going to go down I would have felt better about it had it happened with the big league club.

3 chinned Jim strikes again.

Seasons over?

Don't worry A-rod will save us.
Hendry is out to trade Lee, Aramis, Theriot, Fontenot, Cherry, Ohman, Eyre, Howry, Marmol, Kendell, Hill, Soto, and Floyd for A-Rod.

murton

Post#87 » by Rodanlee » Sat Jul 28, 2007 4:40 am

murton is not even close to being an upgrade over pagan... pagan has speed, power, good avg., average to above average arm, and very good range in the OF. Murton cant hit a home run and the only way he would ever make it in MLB is if he developed a barry bonds like eye at the plate, which originally it looked like he had until this year when he couldn't lay off a slider.

Pagan has power? Murton has a higher career slugging percentage. Murton also has a HUGE (50 points) edge in OBP. Pagan also likes to make stupid baserunning decisions. He's got the edge defensively, but Murton deserves some more AB's after being down for so long.

this year pagan has 9 more ab's than murton, and he also has 3 more home runs and 11 more rbi's. also, neither one of them will ever be the cubs everyday outfielder, but who is more valuable to the cubs in late inning situations say... pinch running or coming in to play good defense for cliff floyd or JJ. Not to mention how valuable it is to have a swith hitter off the bench.

Murton has played well in the past though, Pagan never has. It's stupid to ignore his past seasons because of 100 sporadic AB's this year. With such small sample sizes, you have to use career stats. And Murton's are easily better.

Alfonso Soriano spoke to Felix Pie on Thursday night and gave his old roommate a pep talk.

With Ronny Cedeno called up from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday and Matt Murton getting the call-up Friday, Pie could be wondering whether his turn will come again.

"He's happy; he's OK," Soriano said. "He called me last night and sounded happy. If he came here it would be good for him if he played every day, but it's better for him to stay down there to play every day until September, so he can work on his swing and his ability."

Why bring up Upton anyways? Black Jesus, aren't you a D-Backs fan? I could've sworn we talked to you a few times last week when the Cubbies played the D-Backs...
