Ya think? We just got swept by the Pirates. He has been tearing it up in the minors and could be ready but it ceratainly seems like a panic move. I wasn't expecting him for at least another month or so. No more Fontenot/Baker tandem at 2B now. You don't bring up Castro to not play him everyday.

Holy **** he is being rushed.
'
I remember last year everyone said Elvis Andrus was being rushed. Well..."It should be noted that Andrus had nearly twice as many professional at-bats as Castro currently has upon his call up to the big league club at the beginning of 2009." Oh boy.

Hey, I hope he hits the ground running and dominates. But damn, he is young. Will he be the youngest current player in the majors? I think he's younger than Heyward.

Lol, yeah, maybe. But, he is a clear upgrade over the garbage we are running out there in the middle infield.

Here is my post from the general forum:

Noodle arm is finally moving from SS.

Castro is simply too good for AA. No point in sending him to AAA which is essentially the same level. He's dominated every jump. Get him to the majors and have him learn here.

A Mike Fontenot/Jeff Baker platoon should not hold back a 20 year old that is hitting nearly .400 at AA. Especially, considering he is an upgrade defensively.

Castro has way better minor league numbers than Elvis Andrus and should out produce him even though he's a full year younger than Andrus was last season.

Finally, a reason to watch the Cubs this season.

As long as we keep playing him everyday and not get frustrated if he struggles out of the gate then I'm fine with this move.

Honestly one of the worst articles I've ever read. He's literally wrong in almost every argument.

I don't think struggles out of the gate describes his performance at all. History-making is more like it, though. :D
