Big Spot Scott signs

Scott Baker signs a $5.5 million plus incentives 1 year deal.

Obviously another rehab project. That said he's a decent back of the rotation candidate who could eat innings.

Another cheap scab fill in player. Yippee!

Kidding aside, he was good a few years back prior to being injured and I don't mind it as I already know Theo's looking long term. I just hope long term will be once Soriano's contract comes off the books. At that point, we need to start adding some real pieces for the long term.

Hopefully he starts out strong and we can flip him, like we did with Maholm to get Vizcaino.

If the arm stays attached I think it could be a very good signing for the Cubs.
