Let's aim for taking another 2 of 3. I'm tired of not giving run support when our starting pitcher give tremendous efforts.

Ha I'll take it. It felt like everyone contributed tonight. Wood has been absolutely brilliant this year.

Two random thoughts:
-Hopefully Soriano continues to hit well, some team out there could again want to be a buyer at the deadline. He'd have to waive that NTC...
-Who does Garza replace in the rotation when he comes back? The rotation as it stands now is...

Samardzija
Jackson
Wood
Feldman
Villanueva

Wood has been our ace, he stays. Feldman has been fantastic with a 2.5 ERA, and Samardzija is the face of our rotation, eats up a lot of innings, has a high K/9 ratio. It comes down to Villanueva and Jackson. Of the two, Villanueva has been much better but Jackson is getting paid much more and has been pitching below his normal production value. A good problem to have I suppose, maybe one of them can help out our cringeworthy bullpen. Speaking of which it's good to have Fujikawa back. Outside of those two separate 3-run appearances he has only allowed 2 hits and no walks in 5.1 innings.

Hopefully Villanueva can help make it 4 in a row tomorrow. Cubs wins help with the pain of the Bulls right now. :)

It's hard to close the distance the top teams in the standings, but it's really easy to distance yourself from the crappy teams. I think this team's potential is much higher than our current record shows. Keep winning.

that is a good question about garza, my immediate reaction is jackson because of how bad he's been but he did just get the new deal and it probably wouldn't look good demoting him already

when is garza supposed to be back?

He threw 66 pitches in his 3rd rehab start 2 days ago, but apparently he's going to pitch 2 more times at Iowa. So within the next two weeks I'd imagine.

Colorado is beating the crap out of Villanueva. Every ball has been hit with authority. 5-0 Rockies.
