yankees (23-20) @ cubs (15-27)

game 1: hammel vs. tanaka 7:05 pm
game 2: samardzija vs. whitley 1:20 pm

little more interleague action - too bad we get tanaka again, he seems to still be pretty good

go cubs

more shark stats that make you feel bad:

- hasn't won in 17 starts (since last august)
- 13 consecutive starts allowing 2 earned runs or fewer (second longest since 1913)
- cubs are 1-9 in his starts this year
- mlb best 1.46 era

can a guy get some run support! he's setting himself up to be traded nicely though (and we could get a ton back for him if he keeps this up)

The other thing that makes me feel bad is he's handling it like such a professional. Saying all the right things. His being such a stand up leader in this makes it even crappier we can't score runs when he pitches.

i think he knows he's pitching for a new contract (and possibly a new team) and he's handling himself accordingly (still good for him that he's been able to do that)

i hope he can keep it up for a whole year and not fall a part in the second half like last year
