cubs (38-48) @ reds (45-42)

note: doubleheader on tuesday the 8th

game 1: jackson vs. leake 6:10 pm
game 2: wood vs. cueto 12:10 pm
game 3: wada vs. holmberg 6:10 pm
game 4: beeler vs. simon 6:10 pm
game 5: hendricks vs. bailey 11:35 am

good ol 5 game series, we're the only team in the central under .500 - that's pretty impressive for those other teams

go cubs!

Kyle Hendricks was pulled early(just 2 innings of work) from his start today and was reportedly seen getting hugs and congratulations from teammates. People are suspecting he got called up, if so we will probably see him debut in this series.

Be nice to get a win in the post Shark era in game 2.

Off to a good start.

Looks like Alcantara got called up (though it is temporary):

Terrible way to lose the 2nd game, but Wada did all you could hope for.

Excited Beeler gets start #2, Hendricks his first, and the arrival of Alcantra (sort of).

not a great start for hendricks but it looks like he settled down after the first - alcantara is having a nice game though

Great day. Cub's win and avoid a 5 game sweep, Alcantara has a fantastic day and Rizzo is an all star. Also looks like the Cubs are keeping Alcantara up for a bit. :D

Thrilled to see a game like that from Alcantra.

Hendricks did decent after the rough start.

Nice not getting swept in 5.

rizzo won? nice, good for him

i'll chalk it up to those homers he hit in the last week - i believe chicks still dig the long ball

Nice to see Alcantara gets to stay up. Hopefully, he can start to show the progress we are looking for from the prospects we have coming up. If Alcantara shows he's going to be solid then next year when Baez and Bryant come up we might have 5 legitimate hitters on the team. Assuming they don't trade a few prospects for a proven bat like Giancarlo Stanton as their first big slash.
