The starter should be Lackey. Nobody else in the rotation is fresh, he has plenty of big game experience, and hes actually been pretty solid lately

He set up not blocking the plate and moved to block the plate as he was receiving the throw which is I think could be argued as legal in the context of the rule.

That said our bats have been pretty much dead this postseason, so it wouldn't have helped. We benefitted from the controversial call of the bat hitting the catchers mask and not being called against the Nats, so it all balances out IMO.

We just need our offense to wake up.

Javy picked a good time to wake up. Now we just need a few more bats to get going and the bullpen to stop walking people and the Cubs might just have a chance.

Royce that is awesome! Thanks for sharing.

Seeing how the bullpen is used tonight will cause me to lose it, I'm sure. The good news is we do seem to hit good pitchers better the 2nd time we see them in a series, so I think we have a chance. Need Bryzzo to get going badly though.

Cubs just didn’t have the same spark to them that they had last season. I knew they would struggle if teams got to the bullpen but the bats going as cold as they did is a real head scratcher. Still a good year when you compare it to the past 100.

3 straight NLCS appearances is always a positive. My hope is that this year makes them refocus and not having the target on their backs makes them more dangerous. Resign Jake, get a good #5, and add quality to the bullpen and we are back at it!

They can find a 5th in the farm or use Montgomery. Either resign or replace Jake and add to the bullpen. I'd also like Jay back. I would love for them to trade Schwarber for pitching. Get some more playing time for Almora and Haap more playing time.

Yeah. Love Schwarber, but it's definitely time to move him.

Also, keep Wade Davis!

well that was rough, but it was still a great year

considering the recent struggles of champions in their next year we did really well, getting to the playoffs each year (3 in a row for the first time since 1906-08!!!) is a major step - and then its who knows with all the randomness

so it was always going to be tough with the target and all; really struggled out of the gate but its very impressive they managed to turn it around and have the second half they did to take control of the division and get back to the playoffs

way to go cubs, we'll get them next year!
