First off, this is not an April Fools Day joke. On WSCR radio, they just announced that Steve Stone will be temporarily filling in, in the radio broadcast booth, announcing tomorrow's White Sox game. One of the regular announcers, Ed Farmer, will not be available on opening day. His daughter was injured in an auto accident. Her injuries were not severe, and Ed Farmer will return to work Wednesday's game.

Trader, not that I care or anything even though I kind of liked Steve and Chip but Len and Bob are IMO better than those two.

Yeah, but I hate the way the Cubs management dealt with his situation which ultimately lead to him leaving.
BTW, Kasper > Chip Carey

My favorite analyst. He could predict what every pitcher would do next.

I liked Chip too.
"SWUNG ON AND BELTED...BACK......TRACK.....WALL......GONE!"
and he always said ricochet which was my favorite word at the time because of him.

Steve Stone would be such a good pitching coach.

And a manager. I think he wanted to manage the Cubs at one time, but they didn't want to deal with him. I'm not sure, my memory is short.

Yes Steve Stone was mentioned a lot last year as next manager of the Cubs as was Bob Brenly (2001 World Champion Manager).
I like Lou as our manager though.

Lou Pinella brings us a little Cubbie swagger. Dusty Baker just chewed his toothpick all day and didn't care for his players.

Yeah I like Lou already calling out his players

I wasn't a BIG guy on the Pineilla hire (wanted Girardi), but he's growing on me.
Murton in the 2 hole against righties is a huge step in the right direction.
As for Stone, he is the best baseball analyst in the game. Period. The Sox would be wise to dump Singleton and hire Stone.

So how about Cowboy Hawk and Farmer DJ?
What do you all think about the Sox announcers? I think they are so freakin' annoying.
"YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD!"
and when the Sox are losing you don't hear a peep out of either one of them.

I like Hawk actually. I know not many Cubs fans like him, but I do. He's got a great mind for the game and I do like listening to his stories. I can definitely understand how people can be annoyed by him, but I've heard worse announcers than Hawk. He was a lot better though back when I was growing up and when he only had 2 or 3 catch phrases instead of 20.
DJ is bad though. Probably the boringest TV analyst I think I've heard. Not to mention the fact that it seems like he sucks up to Hawk at every chance he gets. Farmer was a good color guy back when Rooney was with the Sox, but he's not a good PBP guy. And Singleton is the worst announcer in baseball; TV or radio.

I loved Stone, and I would actually tune into some of the ESPN broadcasts just to hear what he had to say. Brenly is ok, but I think we can all agree Joe Carter was bad

.
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I like Chip more than Len. Not sure why I feel that way.

I was perfectly fine with the Chip/Stone combo. I would tend to agree that Chip > Len.
Joe Carter was definitely garbage.
