Theriot Vs DeRosa

I wish Theriot would start at second. He brings more to the table than DeRosa other than power. What do you think about the 2nd base starting job?

Yeah in limited action last year Theriot played well.
I guess we just have to give DeRosa some playing time and if he plays poorly put Theriot in.
Lou knows what he is doing (I think)

I think it suits the Cubs well that they have several players fighting over positions. It shows the strength of our bench, and if someone gets injured, we have the depth to replace that player.

I'm willing to get DeRosa a look, ex-Braves can usually play fundamentally sound baseball, and well, in MLB2k7 DeRosa is sweet!

I think that it is super that we have the depth we have at the SS and 2B possitions.

We have a very good team this year.

Lets pray for no major injuries!!!

We have a lot of great pieces that could help to get things going!!!

Go CUBS!!

Competition for a job usually helps immensely. You have a veteran guy right now to try and just provide stability in DeRosa. If that doesn't work out, you have your young guy to work in over the next year or two to get him ready for the long haul in Theriot.

DeRosa isn't crap, so it shouldn't hurt you guys at all. Plus, he's not a superstar who won't be replaceable for another 5 or 6 years, so it doesn't hurt Theriot's future as well.

Thierot was a flash in the pan last year. Nothing in his minor league career suggests he is even close to the player he was in limited time last season. He hit 3 HRs last year for the Cubs and in 6 minor league seasons he had 5 career homers.

Theriot is your typical utility player; I think "a poor man's Ryan Freel" is a pretty good way to sum him up.

Pinella seems to like to use Theriot a lot off the bench. I think he has played in every game so far.

Theriot actually reminds me of DeRosa himself.

Theriot is not better than him though.
