Injury Reports:

Cubs:
First baseman Derrek Lee left the game in the second inning with neck spasms and is day-to-day. After wrist injuries limited him to 50 games last season, Lee has played in all 35 games thus far in 2007, and his .390 batting average leads the league.

Other Notable Injuries: Kerry Wood and Wade Miller are on the DL.

Preview
It is all about pitching. The Mets have a lot of great hitting on their team. Jose Reyes is an amazing lead off hitter and Carlos Delgado can hit for power. David Wright is in a big slump as of late but will turn it on eventually (Hopefully after this series). The Mets do not really have much pitching so we need to pound the ball and hit in clutch situations (Jones) Derek Lee is day-to-day with neck spasms so he may not be able to go tonight.

That incident happened in late 1969. The Mets overtook the Cubs late that year as the Cubs were in 1st place during the whole rest of the year. They could not win a game after.

Cubs and Mets played in Tokyo a few years ago:

The Mets are probably the Cubs 3rd biggest rival behind the Sox and Cardinals. Some may argue that the Brewers are becoming one of our big rivals.

Also Posey H8er jinxed us.

Maybe a reverse jinx will occur.

Well I don't consider that to be a rivalry yet although Selig is trying to shove it down our throats.

I think because Milwaukee and Chicago are so close. A lot of our fans travel up there and a couple of their fans travel down here.
I think now that since the Brewers are playing well it will be more competitive.

Yeah now it may be more of a rivalry.
Feels like I haven't seen the Cubs in an eternity!

I know but a couple of members here don't like them.
Plus after like 5 weeks of Len and Bob it is cool to watch 2 new announcers.

Actually he isn't that bad. He is showing us some love and he knows more about our players than Len and Bob.
