If the Cubs can just take 2 out of three in this series we will be 40-40 and heading into crappy Washington and Pittsburgh before the All Star Break. As of now we are 5.5 games out of the Wild Card.

Scenarios-
Cubs sweep- 4.5 games behind Milawukee
Cubs take 2/3- 6.5 games behind Milawukee
Brewers take 2/3- 8.5 games behind Milawukee
Brewer's sweep- 10.5 games behind Milawukee

Both teams are hot - Cubs have won 6 in a row and Brewers have won 12 of their last 14. I'm excited for the weekend series!

A sweep means we are out of it basically.
We NEED 2/3.
A sweep for us would be great.

A sweep still wouldn't mean we're out of the WC though. Trust the mediocrity of the NL. I don't think that will happen though, not with Hill and Marshall going.

Good test for Gallardo, both of his starts have come at home. He only throws in the low 90's, but has 3 great pitches, pretty rare for a 21 year old. In AAA he struck out 110 in 77 innings. He's K'd 12 in 9 innings in the majors.

They don't want to burn out the kid so he's on a pretty strict pitch count. At best he'll go 7 innings. Due to a logjam in the rotation this is likely his last start for awhile.

Should be a good game, I enjoy day games.

I wish the Cubs game were tomorrow to solve my pre-NBA withdrawal-like symptoms.

The pressure is all on the Cubs. They are at home and need to start gaining some ground. They've won 6 in a row and picked up just one game. The Brewers know if they win just one game they still have a 6.5 game lead.

Sounds like the weather is going to be baseball perfect.

This should be a really fun series I am really excited for saturdays game being on National TV and all. Gallardo Vs. Hill on Friday should be an amazing pitchers duel. Go Crew. Good luck cubs we all know that the pressure is on the home team. Then on Fox we get Sheets vs. marshall. This is going to be fun.
