So the Cubs have won 17 games out of 25 since Lou's meltdown against the Braves.
Some said it was just a publicity stunt but it has really turned this team around.
Everything is clicking. DeRosa is playing unbelievable, Fontenot is playing like a beast, Zambrano finally is pitching like he should be, and Cliff Floyd is even finding his game.
The Cubs are winning these games without 2 important players playing poorly you can say. Derrek Lee is not producing like he used to and he is frustrated at the plate. Also, Rich Hill is not playing like he did during April.
If this Cubs team can keep it together I like our chances for winning the Wild Card and possibly the NL Central.

I wouldn't say Hill is playing poorly. If anything, April was an abberation. He'll be a good pitcher the rest of the year, but I don't expect him to return to his earlier Cy Young-esque pace.

And, not to sound too pessimistic, but I don't think Lee's power is ever going to be like it was. Sometimes players never get their power back from wrist injuries, I think he'll be more of a 20-25 homer guy, a sort of rich man's Todd Helton. That's why I forsee him as a possible #2 hitter if the Cubs acquire another middle of the order batter.

Zambrano is only going to keep improving this year though. And I'm still waiting for evidence against Fontenot being God.

I enjoyed Lou finally going off on the umpires. Every team he's been with, when his team has been struggling, once he goes off on the umpires, they usually play well the next few games. GO CUBS!
