Batting practice question

Post#1 » by Flaming Mo » Tue Jul 3, 2007 3:40 pm

I plan to go to Wrigley in September. Is it possible to go to batting practice?!? And if so, is it worth the time?!?
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

Oh yeah. Batting practice starts a couple hours before the game, and in the bleachers you'll get a few chances at balls. Plus, it's just a good time hanging out and chatting with other fans and even players.

Yeah, if you have bleacher tickets, definitely get there early so that you get first dibs on seats and get to watch BP. Always fun to heckle the players, and you'll get a couple shots at some balls if you're in the right spot.

If you don't have bleacher seats I would say to go down the 1st base line and head toward the Cubs bullpen. When I was there in May I got to stand and watch Scott Eyre pitch.
Bring a pen too because you may get an autograph.
Make sure you come early the gates open 2 hours before 1st pitch.

I caught a Jacque Jones home run ball in the bleachers in batting practice.. (bare hands)

I got like 3 balls that day in bleachers. 1 from JJ - 1 from ARam - & one from Barrett.

It's fun.. I sat in CF and got mine.

LF is really good though.

I wonder how much a Jacque Jones batting practice ball costs on Ebay?
