State of the Board (Brewers/Cubs Issues)

Recently, I've been getting a lot more posts reported to me, by both Cubs and Brewers fans. I wanted to get a sense of how you guys want the board to be run so I'm not acting like a tyrant or anything. Go democracy!
Personally, I've always had a bit of a laissez-faire approach. I hate how some of the NBA boards have become almost unreadable because of the overbearing moderators (I probably shouldn't mention names for fear of Howard Mass executing me for going against the family). I want to have a place where there's as little censorship as possible and people are free to post anything that's not a clear TOS violation.
But that's just me, and I completely understand if others disagree. The posts being reported indicates that. Most of the things being reported are just simple little insults (your catcher sucks!). These types of things don't bother me, I figure they come with the territory of a rivalry. But again, I want the opinion of the board to form our policies.
So, exercise your democratic rights and vote so I can see where we stand. Thank you.
Oh, and Brewers fans. I have absolutely no problem with your guys posts or that you post here regularly, it's nice to have a little variety. But I'm not going to remove posts made by Cubs fans against Milwaukee. This is a Cubs board, you have to know you're walking into enemy territory. I'm sure there's tons of anti-Cubs posts on your board. I really want you guys to keep posting, but just know I'm not going to remove stuff from our regulars to accommodate you guys.

Good Poll GYBE.
I pretty much agree with everything you said and obviously voted No. But habitual repeat offenders should be dealt with is all I have to add.
I encourage other team fans on our board because, well, we all know how homerific Cub fans can be. The opposite or alternative perspective is always refreshing. Great debates and conversation could evolve if handled properly and I think deleting those posts would only water down this board.

meh, I haven't really had a problem with them.
I say this as someone who has never posted on the Brewers board of course. Things could get chippy down the stretch, but I'd hope everyone (Brewers and Cubs posters alike) can exercise their own good judgment.
Repeat offenders should get the smack down though. By repeat offenders of course I mean people who post with the intention of baiting others in arguments, or who repeatedly de-rail threads because of their own trollish actions.
I just don't want to see a repeat of what Denver fans put with on the NBA forums. You even make a mention of the Jazz and the same handful of idiots from the Jazz board show up and de-rail threads with the same stupid pot shots and trollish behavior. None of that please.

And I thought Utahians were so peaceful.
And I'm now realizing that the poll probably isn't as important as the suggestions you guys have posted. So keep them coming, it's good stuff.

I think smack talk is all well and good, as long as its within reason and in good fun.
Things get heated at times sure, but there is a line; if people don't know when they're crossing it they need to be reminded. If people are obviously crossing the line so as to instigate others, thats when moderation is needed.
As things get chippy down the stretch, its important to remember the golden rule: mind your own business. Be as evil as you want to be...on your board. If what you see on others' boards infuriates you, do yourself a favor, don't look at them.

glad you guys don't seem to mind us too much over here. i'm sure there are idiots on both boards who say things they shouldn't, but hell, let em. i'm excited to see the traffic on these two boards later on in the summer. good luck to ya (well not really).

I said no but I am sure when August and September comes along there are going to be a ton of trolls and they need to be dealt with. The Brewers fans have not been all that bad yet.

I agree with all of this I think it makes the games and season a lot more interesting/fun to have some good competition.
So I say forget about canada and lets have some fun. Just hopefully everyone can mind there p's & q's and not take it to far.

East: Mets -- have shown impressive depth this year in support of front-line talent
Central: Brewers -- Yovani Gallardo is a valuable X factor if starting pitching wavers
West: Padres -- a healthy Brian Giles and improving Kevin Kouzmanoff will give offense the lift it needs
Wild card: Cubs -- not an ideally constructed roster, but rising offense gives them leg up on NL West contenders
How fun would it be for a playoff series.

The only way the Cubs and Brewers could meet in the playoffs would be in the NLCS since I don't think you can face your division in the first round.
That would be one heck of a playoff series and easy traveling distance for Cub fans to Milwaukee.
I remember in 2003 when Atlanta and Florida was packed with Cub fans imagine a playoff series in Milwaukee?

It will be funny when we're winning the division.
And I accidently reported a post yesterday that I didn't mean to.. I didn't even know what the button did until then since I've never really noticed it before.

They could meet in the first round if one was the wild card and one held the NL best record.

Not going to happen

if one team from a division has the best record and a team from the same division gets the wild card, the wild card team will play the second place team and the first place team would play the third place team
the earliest the brewers and cubs could meet would be the nlcs

Brewers fans are nuts. They want their manager fired even though you guys are in 1st place.
I click on your link in your sig and read the first paragraph:
Clearly Ned wanted to lose this game before it even started. That is the only reason I can come with for why Cappy got to start Friday's game.
Give me a break

I thought it was funny I actually typed that.
But still the Cubs made 4 playoff appearances since the Brewers last made it.

So if you were a manager you would start a guy the first game back from the all-star break (when ur ace is ready to go and was scheduled for the start.) that is coming off a nagging injury that had stats like this
DATE OPP RESULT IP H R ER HR BB SO GB FB TBF #Pit Dec. Rel. ERA
7/8 @Was L 2-7 5.1 8 7 7 2 3 4 11 4 26 103 L(5-6) -- 4.78
7/3 @Pit L 2-6 3.1 5 2 1 0 2 3 7 4 20 84 -- -- 4.28
6/8 @Tex L 6-9 4.0 8 6 6 1 4 5 4 5 23 83 L(5-5) -- 4.35
Looks like some real quality starts to me.
Ecspecially when you have gallardo, villenueva, and sheets all ready for action and you start capuano.
So maybe you should have read the rest of the article.
But yeah Yost has cost us about 7 games cause he is way to player friendly and has no clue how to use his bullpen if its not turnbow or cordero time.

No one at least not me is arguing that the Brewers are abetter overall franchise than the cubs cause lord knows they are not.
But this year seems very comical to me seeing that the cubs spent a 1/4 million (I know its not all this year but they dished out a 1/4 million in contracts) and still can't catch a team that has no veterans and an incompetent coach. But this year 2007 Brewers >> Cubs
But it is going to be a fun race untill you guys blow up again and lose 8 of 10 in late august.

The Brewers may have a better record but they aren't the better team, but I will admit they have the pieces to be really really good in the future.
Good Thing Ned Yost is losing games on purpose so the Cubs will still win the division.
