If people thought we had momentum catching up to the Brewers... just wait till we start passing them up like a Ferrari next to a go-cart.

One more game vs these Phillies. Three out of four would be very nice with New York heading into town.

You can add iguchi he's a dangerous hitter too.. that lineup is loaded from top to bottom it's pretty ridiculous. If they had atleast one more decent pitcher they could be the best.

They are dangerous and they're hot right now too, so beating them feels that much better.

The Cubs are now contendors, now lets solidfy that statement by beating up on the Mets.

Yea...and somehow, they still can't win a division title or at least get a Wild Card.

for treyzZz

Jacque Jones says he still believes he has a target on his back at Wrigley Field, and has grown accustomed to hearing boos whenever he does something wrong.

Jones was booed Tuesday night when he lost Tadahito Iguchi's fly ball in the lights and watched it bounce behind him and into the bleacher shrubs for a ground-rule double. He was cheered after hitting the go-ahead, two-run double in the sixth, and booed again after striking out on three pitches in the seventh.

"I've been here for a year and a half and it has been that way," Jones said. "I'm not everyone's favorite here. That's fine.

"I'm here to help this team win. Whether people like it or not, that's just the way it is. "

Jones had an RBI double in the third Wednesday and misjudged a Pat Burrell fly ball in the fourth. He hit .288 in July to raise his average to .242 but hasn't homered since June 1.

"Maybe it's not my season to contribute totally on the offensive side," he said. "I did that last year. [Maybe] it is my season to contribute defensively or offensively here and there or to get it going and be an offensive force like I can be."

The Cubs had the best record (17-9) in the National League in July and the best ERA (3.26) in the majors. They also had fewer home runs (13) than any team but the Los Angeles Angels (10).
