scott podsednik and casey blake per bruce levine
podsednik please god no
blake would be very good as a 3b/1b/RF utility guy who can actually defend in right and keep jaque/floyd on the bench and would be a good fit now with aramis's questionable injury status, although i dont see the indians giving him up as hes the starting third baseman on their first place team

What the hell is Hendry doing?
Scott Podsednik?????? Don't we have enough speed on this team already? We need power. Now quit worrying about how many strips of bacon is on your Baconator and go get a power hitter.
I would want Blake on this team though.

Podsednik is such a bad idea, on every level.

I don't see why everyone is against Pods. When healthy (I know, big if) he's great. He'd fill in the leadoff spot while Fons is hurt, then when Fons is back you drop Fons down in the lineup for more power and move Pods to center.
This is a solid move for a waiver pick up.

.719 lifetime OPS doesn't really do it for me, as well as the fact that we've already got Scot Podsednik playing SS for us (Theriot).
He's a lateral move from Jacque Jones, so it at least better cost us nothing.

I know Pods tried to play center with his old "crew" but he didn't succeed. There were times when the Whitesox needed a centerfielder but didn't play Pods in center, theres a reason for left.
Left field is the least demanding position out of the three OF spots.
For a career minor league player to bust out the year he had, he should be lucky.
That was his prime. period. Plus he's a whitesock, always will be in my eyes.

Oh and Casey Blake... the only thing that tells me is ARAM won't be healthy any time soon. Grrrrr.

Aramis will most likely be back in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against Cincy.
As for the guys mentioned, Stewart would be great, Blake would be nice (although unrealistic), and I wouldn't mind if they took a chance on Wily Mo. The other guys are an easy pass for me.

I love how we'll take nothing less than Griffey Jr. and all we expect to give up is Henry Rollengardner. lol.

ill tell you what. id be okay w/ the pods move. he is a real leadoff hitter. he hasnt stolen as many bases as he is known for this year, but still has speed and is a threat. he gets on base and have the riot bat 2nd, right away you have a scoring chance. theriot always finds a way to get on base, so he would be perfect for #2 driving in the speedy pods. lee, aram and then alfonso. i like it guys. i do. if we dont have to give up much, i think pods good be a mini upgrade. (who else is out there?)
i think blake coming here is just for a back up for aram. he is going to play but not everyday. he has to be as healthy as possible during the post season.

Shannon Stewart > Pods as a leadoff hitter. Even if Pods didn't suck...I just don't like him. Probably the White Sox thing.
Not that it matters, since Soriano will be there when he comes back. We've always had a true leadoff guy (Riot), and that hasn't changed anything.

i think the A's are asking too much, so the stewart situation is unlikely.
i have dont have a problem w/ theriot leading off.
i would like soriano batting 5th.

considering the indians third base situation is pretty awful behind blake, i dont think the indians are giving him up....especially since they are in the middle of pennant chase
